2018 Homeware & Gift Highlights
With 2018 drawing to a close, now seems the perfect time to look back at new homeware and gift highlights we’ve discovered during the year.
2018 has been an exciting year, with the addition of a number of new brands, plus some great releases from existing ranges and new, unusual designs introduced to our Hurn & Hurn Discoveries collection.
If you haven’t already discovered them, our Best Of 2018 highlights edit features some of the most original and outstanding designs, many of which were featured in the press this year. Here are a few of our favourites:
Possibly the prettiest of 2018’s additions are our marvellous minerals; from agate crystal bookends and selenite lamps to smaller ornamental pieces, they are sure to shimmer and shine anywhere in your home:
Danish and Scandinavian brands and designs were very noticeable this year in interiors, albeit in their understated Scandi way. House Doctor and the new Monograph brand from the House Doctor group, along with Bloomingville and Normann Copenhagen, were some of the Scandi stars of 2018:
Quirky Seletti Lamps
Italian design brand Seletti have certainly made an impression this year with their quirky lamps, with highlights including the Seletti Mouse lamps in Gold, the new Bird Lamps and of course Jobby The Cat, who was designed in collaboration with Studio Job:
A Year In Pattern
Orla Kiely’s striking retro inspired patterns continued to stand out in 2018. Uplifting, cheerful oranges and yellows, plus her stylish Rose pink colourway, were seen in many publications and several sought-after new designs were added to her collection:
Going For Gold
One of the biggest trends of 2018 and showing no sign of fading, gold has been everywhere in interiors magazines and homes this year. We’ll leave you with a few stunning golden pieces with an updated vintage look:
