Mark and Claire are the people behind the Paper High brand, which was born out of their love of travelling around the world. An extended stay in Kathmandu led to a chance meeting with a paper maker, which then inspired their exciting business idea. Mark and Claire returned home with two boxes of handmade journals and albums - this was the beginning of the Paper High empire.
Through setting up a stall at Camden market, Mark and Claire soon realised people loved the unique quality of these handmade books and the business grew from strength to strength. Since 2001, Paper High have specialised in selling Fair Trade paper products and unusual Eco-friendly gifts made in Sri Lanka, Nepal and India. All their products are handmade using locally sourced, sustainable and recycled materials wherever possible, for example their khadda paper is made using cotton rags from the clothing industry and leather is taken from the leftovers of the meat industry. Paper High sari fabric and leather products are both made by the same family business in India, by skilled artisans using traditional and contemporary techniques.
Highlights of the Paper High collection include their Eco-friendly handmade journals and photo albums, made from either leather or recycled sari fabric in beautiful colours.
